Welcome to Santa Barbara, California's picturesque central coast and Hotels in Santa Barbara.com, your guide to the best that Santa Barbara has to offer! Santa Barbara is southern & central California's answer to Napa and Sonoma and offers not only great hotels & resorts, but fine wine, gourmet food and views that seem to go on forever.

A short drive from Orange county, San Diego and the greater LA basin makes Santa Barbara our weekend getaway. Wine tastings, tours, hot air balloon rides and the fresh country air, along with some great surf have turned this once sleepy coastal village into an up and coming resort area. Wandering the streets of Cambria, visiting Solvang, wine tasting in Paso Robles and Los Olivos are all possible day trips from Santa Barbara, offering a variety of fun that no other soCal city can.

Santa Barbara hotels

If you are planning a visit to the Santa Barbara there are a couple of things that you should keep in mind. Summers and around harvest time (early fall) are very busy times here. If you are planning on staying overnight you should make your hotel reservations as far in advance as possible to guarantee that you are staying at the hotel of your choice. If you are staying for a couple of days there are a couple of great attractions about a half hour's drive away. Solvang/Los Olivos and the Santa Maria valley both are quick getaways and offer another chioce to taste some of the great wineries of California's central coast.

With that said, now it is time to find a place to stay and begin to enjoy your time in soCal's wine country. A magical & picturesque place tucked away north of LA and Oxnard, Santa Barbara is a great weekend getaway, a day trip or a stop on a grand tour of so, and central California. Please act responsible and do not drink and drive. Booking a hotel for the night is the best insurance that you and yours have the time of your life, so have a great time and enjoy Santa Barbara with us!

Central Coast hotels

If you are taking in a greand tour of the California coastline or just looking at getting away from the big city, this has to be one of the best areas in the state to truly get away from it all. Towns like Cambria, Monterey, San Simeon, Santa Maria and Big Sur all offer different levels of luxury, remoteness and activities to do in your down time. Stick to Big Sur if you need to get away from it all, Cambria and Santa Maria for wine tastings and gourmet snacking and Monterey for the family thing, complete with aquarium.

Monterey hotels

Monterey is part of the Central Coast (see above), but I thought that we should pay some extra attention to it. Home to the Monterey Bay aquarium, Fisherman's Wharf and quiet Carmel by the Sea as a neighbor, Monterey is one of my favorite destinations in the state. With easy access to scenic Highways 1 and 101, Monterey is accessable to most weekenders from norCal and soCal looking to get away for some fun. This is an adventurous drive for those living in San Diego and the OC, but with an early start your bowl of clam chowder is just a few short hours away.

San Luis Obispo hotels

Located a little over an hours drive from Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo is located in the southern part of one of the best wine areas in California. The small towns that line Highway 101 offer a peek into the California of old, where the hustle and bustle have all but passed by with the building of the Interstate highways. You will want to check out paso Robles and the wine festivals that are held here. There are some fantastic wineries to visit and the town makes the drive here worthwild.

Ventura Hotels

Just a bit to the south of Santa Barbara lies the city of Ventura. Along with Oxnard, Ventura is worth a look see, or can be used as an alternative destination if all the hotels in Santa Barbara are booked up. This city does offer an escape from the concrete jungle, as well as a small town feel without the hoards of tourists that sometimes desend on Santa Barbara.
